Welcome Home!

Moving expenses pile up. Unfortunately, large items that make the cut and are packed up do not arrive in the same condition.

A family is playing with cardboard boxes in a living room.

It's stressful moving across country. I know because I've done it myself twice, and the second time was an absolute nightmare.

Once I got past the outrageous estimate the moving company gave me, the only way to get that lower was to decide what larger items (furniture being the main one) could be re-purchased at my destination. Once that long process what complete, I was confident that the moving company would get everything across country safely - but boy was I wrong!

When they pulled up and started unloading at my new home, my wife and I were flooded with the emotions of anger and depression. Here we are, starting a new chapter in our journey with our 1 year old and our Great Dane, and we are seeing some of our possessions being gathered up in pieces, covered in dust, and placed in a pile. Many items were destroyed, while a few were able to be cobbled back together, destined for a second life as garage furniture.

After we settled in, I realized there are many similar stories out there and started reaching out to online communities geared towards moving to the mid-TN area and offering the services of Cut Twice Woodworks. I found during my time of dismay, it was comforting to hear reassurance that "This too shall pass". It was also an opportunity to create a piece that was 100% custom to our taste and new environment - not just another big box cookie cutter.

If you find yourself looking for a replacement piece of furniture (or even something new that would fit perfectly in your new space), reach out! We would love to work with you.
