Robertson County, located in north-central Tennessee, has a rich history that dates back to the late 18th century. The county was established in 1796 and named after James Robertson, a pioneer who helped settle the region. Over the years, the county has played an important role in Tennessee's history, from serving as a crucial battleground during the Civil War to producing notable figures like country music legend Conway Twitty.

The county is also known for its agricultural heritage, with many farms and farmers markets in the area. Agriculture has long been a major industry in Robertson County, with farmers cultivating crops like corn, soybeans, and wheat. However, the county is perhaps best known for its production of dark-fired tobacco, a type of tobacco that is cured using heat from hardwood fires. This process gives the tobacco a distinct smoky flavor and is used in the production of popular tobacco products like chewing tobacco and snuff.

The Robertson County Fair, held annually in Springfield, celebrates this heritage with carnival rides, livestock shows, and other agricultural exhibits

One of the most notable landmarks in Robertson County is the Bell Witch Cave, located in Adams, TN. The Bell Witch is a local legend that has been the subject of books, movies, and television shows. The cave is said to be haunted by the Bell Witch, and visitors can take tours to learn more about the story.
