All Things Live Edge

Live Edge is unique, it has character and style, and it's made from one piece of wood. Live edge furniture can be expensive because the wood is rare in this form, but if you know what characteristics to look for when shopping for live edge furniture it may not be so bad after all!

Live edge furniture is made from a single piece of wood, which means that its appearance is unique. The grain and coloring on the piece will vary due to where it was harvested and how many times it was exposed to sunlight, rain or any other environmental element.

The raw edge of the tree has been left as part of the design, and some pieces have natural imperfections in them. No two pieces are identical because each piece comes from a different tree with its own character and grain patterning (the way things line up).

Natural imperfections are a natural part of design - no two pieces are identical and wood is a natural material. These imperfections can add to the beauty of your finished product and make it more unique, which is something you'll notice when you see how different each piece looks from one another.

The best part about using rough edges in furniture is that these features give it personality! You'll find yourself staring at your new table for hours just marveling at all its details—the knots in the wood grain, how rough some parts look compared with others (some tables have lots of knots while others might be smooth), etc.

Live edge furniture can be expensive because the wood is rare in this form.

The reason? It’s not usually processed in this way. Typically, live edge furniture has a lot of knots and irregularities that need to be sanded down before it's ready for finishing, which adds time and expense to the process.

The beauty of Live Edge is undeniable - and if it is something your heart is set on, you should really consider the investment.

Have you ever considered getting a Live Edge piece? If you decided against it, what was the determining factor?
