Job Description: Sales Development Professional (Independent Contractor)

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Sales Development Professional ("SDP") to join our team as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate will focus exclusively on selling our bespoke wood tables to both consumer and business clients. This role is commission-based and offers flexibility in work hours and methods.


Location: Remote (Contractor-based residence and performance of duties occurs within the state of TN)


Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research potential leads within both the business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) markets for bespoke wood tables.
  • Develop and implement strategies to generate new business opportunities.
  • Contact and engage with prospects through various channels (e.g., email, phone, social media).
  • Nurture relationships with potential customers to understand their needs and present tailored solutions.
  • Conduct virtual or in-person meetings with prospects to showcase our bespoke wood tables and discuss their unique requirements.
  • Close sales, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities and progress using their own systems and tools.


IMPORTANT NOTE: Quote preparation is not a function of this role. The quote is prepared based on the information the SDP collects and submits. The quote is provided back to the SDP for presentation back to the Client. We strive to maintain the SDP role to remain client facing, focusing on commission-based selling and minimizing administrative tasks as much as possible.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales development, lead generation, or a related role, particularly with niche products.
  • Strong knowledge of the custom furniture market or other such custom/specialized market with specific target audiences and high ticket items.
  • General understanding of woodworking is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.


Work Environment:

  • This is a remote position operated within the State of Tennessee; the contractor will operate independently from their own location.
  • Flexible work hours; the contractor is responsible for managing their own schedule and workload.
  • Specific customer facing collateral (one-pagers, brochures, presentations) has been created and can be used freely by SDP, but is not required in performance of role.
  • Reference material to assist in success with remote nature of role is readily available.


Contract Details:

  • This is an independent contractor position. The Sales Development Professional is not an employee of Cut Twice Woodworks and is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits. You will be required to carry and provide proof of valid General Liability Insurance. You will also be required to provide a completed W9 upon onboarding.
  • The contractor is expected to use their own tools and resources (e.g., phone, computer, internet).
  • Any travel and/or other related expenses used in the performance of the role (e.g., flyers, handouts, etc.) will not be reimbursed.
  • The contractor will be required to sign an independent contractor agreement outlining the terms of engagement, scope of work, compensation, and other relevant details.

$0-$3,999 $4,000-$8,999 $9,000-$14,999 >$15,000
15% 18% 22% 25%

For orders exceeding $15,000, in addition to the 25% commission on the first $15,000, a flat bonus of $2,000 will be awarded for every additional $10,000 in order value.
